Below you can see what its looking like. 2 story we a nice 5 ft crawl space, we have done everything from the ground up besides the excavation.
Above is an inside shot of the trusses in the garage. One of my favorite parts was being up on the wall when the crane would lift up 4 or 5 of these and we would place them in the right spot and fasten them down. Believe it or not, placing these trusses is actually very quick and easy.
This is still in the garage, but i just wanted to get a picture to show what it takes to make a sound home. Here you have 5 2x4s holding up what is called a header. this header runs over the opening of the garage. You have headers over doors windows, well basically any opening... the header and what are called trimmers (the vertical boards) help to carry the load above. But i thought this picture was impressive. 10 2x4s holding up this header is pretty cool. Lots of strength!
to the right is the kitchen then the dinning room. Small but nice for a 4 person family. What is looks like now is called the rough framing. This is now ready for windows and exterior doors. then we will hire out a plumber and a heating and air guy to come and work their magic.
Here is where the stairs will go. they will start at the left side and go up 6 steps to the landing you can see there, and then do a 180 and go up to the 2nd floor with another 6 steps. i got to do all the work with a friend from class, for these steps.
it was pretty hard to tell you the truth, figuring out everything, but it was alot of fun.
This is a view of the front porch. i got to do all the work on it. from the concrete to sheeting the little roof.
So this is the house that i have been building...
It has been alot of fun and i feel i have learned alot from it.
:)I love to build!
PS. blogging is hard...
