So this past weekend i was kinda absent minded and didnt really have this

attached to my hip. it was actually kinda nice, except for when i wanted to know what time it was... but really- it was nice. well as we were leaving salt lake i picked up my purse and grabbed my jacket and we were on our way home. little did i realize that the phone i notoriously have with me at all times- was not with me. we got home- and i was like - i wonder if i have any texts.... and i couldnt find it. oh well... well? where is it... shoot. the only place it could have been was my parents house or my in-laws. (who are my parents too) well- i called them from steves phone just asking them to keep an eye out for it.... amazingly enough i really was not stressed out about it at all... the thought of not having a phone for a week was kind of a nice one.
well after spending a day without it- i havent really missed it- other than the fact that i clock in and out of work with it. i use the alarm to wake me up every morning (i actually have to use a real alarm clock!) and i use it to wake me up from my lunch hour naps.... well luckily everything is working out just fine, the world hasnt come to an end. My sweet mother in law Joanne found it sitting down on the floor of her office next to the garbage can. i dont even wanna know how it got there. but at least i know it is not lost and gone forever.it is sad to think that i have been so dependant on this stupid thing for so long, but really right now- and for the week- it will be nice not to have to worry about it. i guess on saturday when we go up to Salt Lake for conference- i will be linked back to the real world and will no longer get to live in a life free of cellular contact. i think i will just enjoy it while it lasts :)
Well, the one drawback is that I will be out of town and therefore, we won't have much contact without your phone. I really was going to try to be better while on vacation!
ReplyDeleteway to go for surviving! i also think that it is nice to occasionally not take it with me... but a week is a long time. good thing i'll see you saturday!
