So, i have decided it is a very good thing that babies dont remember things from their early childhood, like from birth to 2, maybe 3 years old. Let me enlighten you as to why i am thankful for that blockage of memory. It all started as follows
1. G got his shots yesterday and had achy legs all day :( only squealed once at the dr.'s office- but was kinda whiny and sad and sleepy all day.
2.Last night steve and i went to costco and on our way out decided to get one of those yummy chocolate covered icecream dipped in almonds thingys. we drove home and steve looked over at me and somehow- i had chocolate dripped down my neck, on my chin and of course in the corners of my mouth- how i didnt feel all that chocolate goodness, (going waste) not being ingested- i will never know. but i looked like a two year old eating. wow. go me
2. Steve so lovingly told me he would unload the groceries if i would take the boy in and change him. i should have read into his sneakery. after changing a blow out and taking the boy right up stairs to bath off the rest of the nastiness- Daddy didnt fill the tub deep enough and mommy ended up getting peed on, straight shot to the chest.
4.lotion time- mommy spaced the fact that the boy had been poked in the legs with needles hours prior- and she starts massaging in lotion in..... poor poor little baby. well she decided to give him some tylenol to take off the edge so he could get some good sleep, while holding the babes- and the tylenol bottle, and trying to measure how much to give- all this pink stuff was running all over G's clean lile body and clean little pjs. She seriously, just dumped an entire bottle of childrens tylenol all over a sad and clean little boy. totally sticky. another bath? no she just wiped him down with wipes.go team.
5. trying to redeem myself to this poor little champ- i took off his clothes and like i said- wiped him down, but he would not have it- so as i was trying coddle him i leaned down and just held him close. G-COVERED with pink stickiness again- from MY shirt- little Mister got another wipe down. i decided it was time to let daddy take over instead of just watch me struggle.
Yes i have decided it is a very good thing babies have little to no memory of these early days. Gabe would forever hold this day against me, steve im sure will never let me live it down- but seriously? a dang nutcase. thats what i am. but i LOVE being a mom.
Alana you are hilarious! I love reading your posts because you make me laugh, and your boy is so delicious! But yes, i do agree with you, i am so glad i dont remember what it was like to be a baby! Its a hard life for them, this big personality stuck in a body that does not work (yet). cute little things!
