we drove down to hurricane and spent the night at my aunt roma anns house and headed to cali tuesday morning, got to cali in the late afternoon
this dress isnt necessarily the most flattering thing for my flowering figure, but boy is it comfortable. its like a moo moo!
we like to kiss on the beach
this is the lovely view just outside our hotel room
and this is our hotel room, when i booked the hotel- i knew that i would be 30 weeks pregnant, and figured i would want some "space" plus renting a room with 2 beds was WAY cheaper than renting a one bed room (doenst make much sense to me) anyway - we checked in and got all settled in, then went for a walk to see what all was around. Laguna beach is acutally a pretty cool little place, there are tons of shops and little restaurants and stuff to go look around at. not to mention the beautiful beach. it was a little chilly when we got there- so good thing we had our jackets and stuff to bundle up in.
we walked down the beach and up the streets and decided to stop at a cool little restaurant for dinner. OH. My. Gosh. the food was amazing! so delicious.
i got this crazy flavorful little pizza
and steve got this rockin burger. with potato wedgies. so yummy! and really cheap actually.
so after dinner we went for another walk along the beach and just soaked it up. and just kinda meandered our way back to the hotel. well when we got there we were just relaxing and got a phone call- the front office told us we had to move rooms because a pipe had broken. so for the "inconvenience" of moving all our junk next door-they took great care of us- they gave us the FIJI water that is normally 5 dollars a bottle for free, chips and salsa and free parking! (a $40 dollar value) so i thought that was awesome. Steve didnt want to sleep in his own bed but didnt want me to be a bed hog, so he made what you see- is called the great PANGEA, he moved everything around and made one GIGANTIC bed. it was pretty awesome. this is me pretending to be asleep on Pangea.
Then i for reals fell asleep.
Wednesday morning we got up and went out for a walk again
and took more pictures of ourselves
Then we went to the wedding for Haley and Nicolas the gorgeous couple.
The weather forecast for was supposed to be rainy and cold and this is what we got. a perfect sunshiny warm day! it was prefect!
I seemed to have left my brain at the hotel (or the sunscreen) and decided that i didnt need sunscreen. what? im a sunscreen nazi! i always wear it. in fact im wearing it right now- and im inside all day and its rainy. well anyway- this is what i got- blisters and 2 layers of peel.
after walking along the beach steve and i would put our flip flops back on and have huge gobs of
tar on our feet! leaving huge blobs on our flippys. we couldnt figure out where the crap it was coming from!
so that was our attempt at getting the crap off our feet without going to the nearest gas station to soak our feet in gasoline.
then we headed to the wedding dinner/reception thing and had a lovely time, we had some delicious food as you can see below

and had a wonderful time, visiting with the people at our table and got to spend a few minutes with the bride and groom. my arms started to feel like molten hot lava had been poured all over them so i went to the bathroom, filled the sink with cold water and tried to soak them as best as I could. it was only a little bit of relief so we had to leave the party and go get some stuff to alleviate the lava arms.
we went to bed and got up thursday morning and headed back to hurricane and spent a few relaxing days there i got to do some hair for my cousin Susie- she looks like a celebrity now. :) and steve got to do some 4 wheelin. all in all it was a great vacation, steve and i had a blast getting lost with the magellan in california. he has vowed we would never move to a big city with that much traffic, he said he would be an angry person all the time if we ever had to move to a place with 7 different freeways to get 10 miles, and it takes 2 hours to get 30 miles.
it is now two weeks later any my arms are still fried crispy. hopefully i can find my brain before i go out in the sun again.
Potato wedgies!! Haha! And the tar feet still kill me! "Steve and I like to take pictures of ourselves and kiss on the beach" You are stinkin hilarious. I'm glad you had a nice time and that I was able to finally see some pics from your trip.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had fun and were able to have one last getaway. I'm jealous you got to go to the beach!!
ReplyDeleteI guess you'll be hearing from us sometime in the next few days......
Ouch, ouch ouch! Fun trip, but ouch to your feet and poor arms!
ReplyDeleteAnd secretly, how lovely would it be to be married on the beach like that? Of course the alternative was wonderful for other reasons, but the beach scene looks so romantic!
