So Steve and I got little piglet about 2 months ago. In pig time- that means he is now like in his adolescence. in about 4 more months he is going to be prime rib. er- sausage... apparently it was a mistake to name the poor dear. i have been getting crap from everyone saying- you cant eat something you named... well i named him late-heck- i didnt even meet him til he was in his teenage times. had i named him when he was birthed then i think it would be a different story. i named him late in his life- maybe that is why he is having an identity crisis. little does he know what is to become of him in the next few short months. he is going to gain a morbid amount of weight. become hairier and hairer, he wont notice the emission of smell coming from his habitat, and then bam- he is going to be on my table for christmas dinner.
i posted the named "pet" or meals to come if you will- on facebook and this is what happened.

but he belongs to me.

· Charity Hawkins Dodson: I had a friend in HS that had a pig. He lived in her bedroom. It was awesome. I'm jealous. I just told JB the other day that I wanted a pig.
· Alana Stout-Nelson: yeah i dont think pigs smell that good- so i have to keep him 280 miles away from me...

Danielle Page: They're gonna raise it, kill it, and then eat it??!! You people are sick.
Amanda Stout: Umm, haven't you ever seen or read Charlotte's web? That's what tehy raise pigs for!
Alana Stout-Nelson: dani- where do you get your pork?
Danielle Page: there is difference from buying pork at the store and have a pet pig named Beau and then eating him!!

hes gunna grow big and ugly and even stinkier!
· Danielle Page: I dont know what to think about you right now.. you named him and now you're calling him names and planning on eatting him.

· Danielle Page: haha Mira(2 year old) thinks its wrong too. She said "Pigs are nice and they are my friends. haha

For some reason i thought this was quite hilarious. but i figured i should have run it by my hub before i named him- but i was a little too late. and this is what was said

maybe i should retract the poor hogs name. will that un-cause the facebook havoc?
I laughed out loud here lady. So funny. I saw that FB status and thought about adding my 2 cents, but its more fun to read this little diddy.
ReplyDeleteMy family has had a few pigs and they've named every one. Lucky, because he got to live another day to make more baby pigs. Ham aka Miss Piggy, who is the mama and little Pork Chop. They'll all be eaten soon as well. So far no emotional family defects... not that weren't already there anyways...
