PEACH DAYS

Steve gettin ready to ride the bull

We are on our way to have an AWESOME weekend at Peach Days in Hurricane.

We went boating in Hurricane- courtesy of My Sweet Awesome Cousin Troy.

This is Esteban- riding a huge bull! So they told the boys-Skyler, Daniel, and Steve that they would be riding just these little steers for the rodeo. One by one they started loading the "steers" down the chute, and i wish we could have seen the eyes on those boys. Skyler and Steve were just about to bail once they saw the size of these crazy wild animals. They were not steers at all... they were huge bulls! And let me tell you- they were NOT happy campers, Skylers bull kept trying to bite his leg while they were still in the cage! But thankfully no injuries were incurred and the boys got the thrill of their lives. They will definitely be doing the bull riding next year, but they at least have a better idea of what they will be getting themselves into.

Peach days is always a way fun time for the Stout clan, a million of us make a pilgramage down to hurricane, heaven on earth. We always do fun stuff, we hit up the parade on saturday morning -Amanda and I always have a great time scaring the little kids, and yelling and screaming for the people and floats going by (I think our kids will be embarrassed by us when they are older and we are going to parades acting like a bunch of crazies, but they will love us for it- cuz they will get LOTs of candy!) Then we go 4 wheeling or swimming- at Sheep Bridge (the canal) or Sand hollow and go cliff jumping. Later we go to Peach Days and enjoy the food and the festivities of the sweet middle age singers and dancers just performing their little hearts out, and going to all the booths. Next is the Rodeo- which is always a lot of fun, too bad no one in our family particpated in the greased pig chase, the chicken chase or the mutton busting. Its sad that everyone is just getting too old for that. Well we moved on to the older things, we got ourselves some champion Grade A bull riders! Next year we decided we want to do the hide race (which will be AWESOME ) and the bull riding. To end the night, we have the legendary Stout circle, where all the adults just get around in a big ol circle and talk. It is actually quite entertaining because in the Stout family we are all VERY opinionated people. So there is always a good amount of blood risings and laughter and what have you. Then sunday- ah the day of rest. Church this year has been at 1 which is nice, everyone can sleep the day before off, and get up at their leisure. But for some reason it seems we are always there on fast sunday which is kinda funny- cuz for some reason everyone seems to complain a whole lot more about fasting on vacation than when at home... Im not quite sure why that is, but it just makes me laugh. But the day is so nice, nothing to do, nowhere to go but church, just nice and relaxing, then dinner time. What a CRAZY time. But so much fun. AH! I love Hurricane. And I love peach days.

  1. That's becasue I love the parade. And did you notice that we didn't really have anyone sitting by us? They were all farther down the road so they didn't get the rewards of our maniac parade ways.
